1. User Device / Browser
Phase 1 / 4Your file is selected in the browser. We do not currently decrypt password-protected PDFs client-side; you must unlock protected files with a trusted tool before uploading.
We hold nothing we don't need
SignetKit is designed so that sensitive information is never retained in plaintext, never pooled with other users, and never reused to train AI models.
No query logs
Questions you ask the document assistant are converted to embeddings and discarded. We do not keep a history of your prompts.
In-memory decryption only
Decrypted text exists only inside the inference process for the duration of a single request. It is not cached, logged, or written to disk.
No cross-tenant access
Vector similarity searches are scoped to your user_id at the database level. Other users’ chunks are physically excluded before any scoring happens.
No plaintext persistence
The semantic index stores only AES-256-GCM ciphertext, nonce, and authentication tag. There is no plaintext content column in the database.
